The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council has teamed up with artists, celebrities, and fashion designers to create a ball that is affordable for all by having art on T-Shirts. The event is free for everyone that wants come!
The Blue Jean and T-Shirt Ball, Tuesday April 20, 2010 at the Power House, will not only benefit the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council but also the Student Arts Association. The event will feature an exhibit of uniquely designed, autographed and created t-shirts by artists like Jerry Edmund, musician Jimmy Buffet and Eli Manning. Guests will be able to leave with their favorite wearable work of art by making a donation to the arts council and receiving a sold sticker to place on the t-shirt of their choice in a reverse auction. Instead of bidding for a flat donation guests have a chance to win their favorite shirt.
Tired of having that same, old t-shirt as everyone else in town? This free event will feature several artists creating t-shirts on site. Guests can have the clothes they are wearing transformed into a work of art, or get a little paint under their nails and make their own wearable art with assistance from the artists. Here is your chance to get your new favorite t-shirt.
