Join us for fun and relaxing sketching sessions from a live model in leotards and costumes.
"Gesture" captures the fleeting and preserves it! This drawing approach best expresses the dynamic "animating spirit" of a pose. It is abundantly intuitive and full of descriptive energy. "Gesture" sketching also suggests relationships, mood, emotion, and a sense of living presence.
Learn how "Gesture" can embody a momentary scene with an inquisitive, darting, searching line. It is a wonderful practice for travel-sketchbook keepers, for trying out ideas of larger works, for productive daily drawing exercise, for compositional problem solving, and for amazing creative brain-storming.

Instructor:
Constance Pierce served as professor of fine arts at St. Bonaventure University (NY). She also taught with the Smithsonian Institution (DC), Henry Luce Center (DC), Yale Divinity School (CT), Ursuline College (OH), Millsaps College (MS), Penland (NC), and the Cleveland Institute of Art's National Summer Program (OH). She has exhibited in the U.S., U.K., and Japan. Her sketchbooks were exhibited twice at the National Museum of Women in the Arts (DC).
