This session will focus more on tying combinations into a simple, beginner friendly choreography. Here, we will focus less on individual moves and more on the dance. Basic level technique knowledge is assumed; this is an excellent class for Session I participants to further practice skills learned in the previous class.
Bring a hip scarf, if you have one (no worries if you don't - I have plenty!), some water, a smile, and an open mind! Belly dance is traditionally danced barefoot, but feel free to wear socks, ballet flats, or dance shoes to protect your feet and assist with turns.
Registration will close at noon on October 29th!

About Rachel
Hello & Welcome! My name is Rachel Coleman, and I will be your bellydance guide this fall! My bellydance journey began in 2006, originally as way to incorporate more movement and exercise to my day. The more I danced, the more my fascination grew, and the more I wanted to know. My love of this beautiful dance quickly transformed what was intended to be a simple means of exercise into a natural outlet of self-expression and creativity. My foundation is rooted in Egyptian style of bellydance, but I also draw inspiration from a many other bellydance styles and outside dance genres.
Over the past 17 years I have taught private lessons, group classes and workshops for the Oxford community through the Oxford Park Commission, The University of Mississippi, and the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council. I am certified in the A-Z Bellydance and SharQui-The Bellydance Workout methodologies. It is my great pleasure to introduce women of all ages to the joy of bellydance and hope to encourage and empower women in their own dance/movement journeys. I look forward to dancing with you!
