Imagine creating a visual memoir that also reflect your interior life. Enjoy guided explorations in watercolors, collage, simple monoprint, altered photo imagery, and unique visually expressive text.
Art Novices Welcome!
The healing qualities of both journal writing and image-making are joined together in potent combination in the creation of your "Imaging Journal." Part soul-work and part storytelling, the intimacy of the process encourages archetypal imagery to surface from memory and imagination. Your journal may gently reveal your interior life and its deep connection to the sacred whole.
Guided explorations in watercolor, acrylic monoprint, and collage offer opportunities for visual rumination, epiphany, and sudden splendor. You may discover your own unique, previously unrecognized, expressive gifts!
Prior participants have re-ignited a creative spark and unleashed new avenues of self-expression. For others, their journals have assisted in navigating a life transition, visualizing memoir, preserving family history, or honoring the gift of self-care after an illness or loss. Seasoned artists and writers may discover new concepts, characters, and imagery to engage.
This class has proven meaningful for artists, writers, poets, educators, counselors, and many in the healing and ministering professions.

Constance Pierce has taught her original "Image Journaling" material with Yale University Divinity School (CT), Henry Luce III Center for Arts and Religion (DC), Smithsonian Institution Art Studios (DC), Millsaps College (MS), Ursuline College, Art Therapy in Counseling, graduate program (OH), The Cleveland Institute of Art National Summer Program (OH), Penland School (NC), and with St. Bonaventure University (NY) where she served as professor of fine art. She also conducted numerous professional development journal workshops for educators in DC, NY, OH, PA, CT, MS.
