Location: Lafayette County Multipurpose Arena
Learn how to make a beautiful, small round basket woven with kudzu vines. Basic basketry and weaving techniques will be demonstrated and an information sheet will be provided with tips on weaving and how to gather kudzu vines for future basket making adventures. I will provide the primary weaving material and students are also welcome to bring other basketry materials–grasses, reeds, roots, other vines, flexible shoots, leaves, etc.--- that they may like to incorporate into their baskets.
Students will need their own hand pruners. This class requires some hand strength and dexterity.
Registration for this class will close at 12 p.m. (noon) on November 6th.
The Lafayette County Arena is located at 70 F.D. Buddy East Parkway (70 County Road 406). This road connects Hwy 6 to Hwy 334 by the Lafayette County Schools. Enter through the MS State Extension Services Entrance (glass doors on the left).
